The University of Auckland is offering PhD Scholarship in “Reacting to cold in a changing world – uncovering an alternative vernalisation mechanism in legumes”. The scholarship is open to suitably qualified domestic or international students.

The ultimate aim of this research is to apply it to plant breeding of plant varieties with optimised flowering in a changing climate.

The University of Auckland is the largest university in New Zealand, located in the country’s largest city, Auckland. It is the highest-ranked university in the country, being ranked 81st worldwide in the 2016/17 QS World University Rankings.

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

  • Eligible Countries: Scholarships are open to New Zealand and international students.
  • Entrance Requirements: Students applying for this position will be high achievers and have demonstrable experience and expertise in plant molecular biology and genomics and preferably bioinformatic skills for handling large data sets. The successful PhD candidate must be able to meet the requirements of, and enrol in, the University of Auckland’s PhD programme. Suitably qualified domestic or international students are welcome to apply.
