The S.N. Bose National Center for Basic Science and TWAS have designed a fellowship program for scholars from developing countries to pursue postdoctoral research in Kolkata, India, in the field of physical science. Interested applicants from Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Nigeria, Tonga, Togo, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Cuba, and other south developing countries are eligible to take part in this fully-funded fellowship.

  • Candidates must be regularly working in a developing country other than India or a developed nation.
  • Must receive an offer letter from the S.N. Bose National Centre.
  • Applicants must have excellent knowledge of the English Language.
  • Must commit to returning to their home country after completion of the fellowship.
  • Applicants must not apply for another assignment during their fellowship at S.N. National Center.
  • Must be able and responsible for their family members’ costs and support.

  • Letter of acceptance (the application without acceptance letter will not be considered).

Note: Applincants must submit the preliminary acceptance letter showing they are accepted to one of the SN Bose Department. The letter must reach the institution at the time of application, or by the deadline at the latest. For the purpose of getting the letter, applicants are advised to visit the SN Bose website to find a supervisor with who they will conduct their research.

How To Apply

Applicants can apply for the fellowship only through the online application portal. Moreover, applicants must provide the preliminary acceptance letter from one of the S.N. Bose National Center for Basic Science departments to be considered.

Reminder: Applicants are recommended to apply for the acceptance letter as early as possible bearing in mind that the letter dates in the current year will be acceptable.

After having all the requested documents, applicants can fill out and submit the online application form.
