President’s Scholarship for International Students at the University of Winnipeg

The University of Winnipeg will provide 53 scholarships to international students studying in Canada for the first time. This outstanding award is available to students that display leadership skills, have a high academic background, are looking for scholarship opportunities, and are willing to study at Winnipeg University.

The Institution of Winnipeg (UWinnipeg, UW) is a Canadian public research university based in Winnipeg. Art, business and economics, education, science and kinesiology, and applied health are among the undergraduate and graduate degrees offered. The two original colleges of UWinnipeg, Manitoba College and Wesley College, merged in 1938 to form United College. The University of Winnipeg was founded after United College received its charter in 1967.

The President’s Scholarship for Students at the University of Winnipeg is worth $5,000.

Eligibility:

The following requirements must be met by candidates:

·        Have a minimum entrance average of 80% or above.

·        Be an international student

·        Beginning the first year of any program

·        Demonstrate outstanding leadership abilities.

·        By the scholarship deadline, submit a comprehensive admission application.

Language Requirement for University of Winnipeg:

TOEFl: A minimum score of 86 with no less than 20 in each component
IELTS: Minimum overall score of 6.5
PTE: Minimum score of 58

Required Documents:

·        Fill out the application form completely.

·        A personal statement of 250-500 words

·        An updated CV

·        2 letters of recommendation from people who are familiar with the applicant’s extracurricular activities and volunteer work.
