Deadline for Application:

Completed applications must be submitted no later than 20th of September, 2017.

The PAYK Investigative Journalism Fellowship Programs is an initiative of the PAYK Investigative Journalism Centre. Established in 2013 PAYK is the leading investigative journalism center in Afghanistan, producing investigative reports and supporting and training investigative journalists.

The aim of the PAYK Fellowships for Investigative Journalists is to support in-depth coverage of critical issues related to government accountability and transparency in Afghanistan. In an environment where many media outlets do not have the resources to tackle complex, time-consuming stories, the fellowships will enable mid-career journalists to do the deeper reporting needed to produce a serious piece of investigative reporting. The PAYK Investigative Journalism Fellowships are supported by the USAID funded Rasana Program, implemented by Internews.

The PAYK Investigative Journalism Fellowships, 2017 will be awarded to investigative journalists who fulfill the eligibility and application criteria. Six awards of USD 1000 each will be available for each Fellowship, to be completed within a four-month period. Fellows will receive the amount in three instalments (30% upon selection, 40% upon submission of the report’s first draft and 30% after the report is published). PAYK Investigative Journalism Centre will also provide mentoring support to the recipients of the fellowships.
